The nonprofit Blue Ridge Press is a nationally distributed syndicated news and commentary service reporting on the environment. BRP has been published in more than 485 U.S. print newspapers and news websites in 45 states, with more than 55 million circulation since 2007.

BRP columns are commissioned by Blue Ridge Press editors, and offered free of charge to 4,000 newspapers, newsweeklies, and magazines, which publish the work of our authors in their print and online editions. Online publications, blogs, news aggregators and newsletters are also welcome to print Blue Ridge Press commentary.

Blue Ridge Press columnists are leading thinkers on the environment. They are top journalists, scientists, policy makers and activists who write about the environment, often using regional stories to illuminate an issue of importance to a national audience. Our stories range over a wide number of issues and concerns, including climate change, freshwater, energy, estuaries and oceans, sustainability, and much more. Blue Ridge Press has especially focused on the corporate abuse of power in regard to undue influence in federal and state government.

HOW WE WORK. Blue Ridge Press distributes one new column via email or fax to editors every two weeks. The column is sent in a text format, with a jpeg thumbnail portrait of the columnist available upon request. Blue Ridge Press columns are available free of charge.

EDITORIAL POLICY. Blue Ridge Press columnists are chosen for their unique perspectives, and their views are their own. Blue Ridge Press seeks out these independent voices to help elevate the dialogue about the environment, and to bring an environmental perspective to personal actions and discussions about public policy.
